The conflict between Iran and the United States and Israel entered its sixth day, with Iranian authorities reporting that at least 1,230 people have been killed in airstrikes across the country.
According to reports cited by Al Jazeera, explosions and aerial bombardment have been reported in several cities, including Tehran and Isfahan.
Israeli forces said they were targeting security installations, missile sites and other strategic locations inside Iran. The attacks reportedly caused extensive damage to buildings and infrastructure in multiple urban areas.
Iranian state media also aired videos showing explosions and destruction in several regions, as fear spread among civilians in affected cities.
Meanwhile, the United States Senate rejected a resolution aimed at limiting the war powers of Donald Trump in relation to military operations against Iran.
The resolution sought to halt the strikes and require congressional approval for further military action.
Iran has claimed it carried out retaliatory missile and drone attacks against US and Israeli targets, saying more than ten drones were involved in the strikes. Tehran warned it could target larger objectives if attempts were made to pursue regime change.
Regional impacts have also been reported. Iranian strikes on Israel killed 11 people, including six US soldiers, according to Arab media reports.
Additional casualties were reported across the Gulf. Three people were killed in attacks linked to Iranian strikes in the United Arab Emirates, while a missile interception in Bahrain triggered an industrial-area fire that killed one person.
In Kuwait, four people — including two Kuwaiti soldiers — were reported killed in Iranian attacks. Another person died after a projectile struck a tanker at a port in Oman.
The war is also impacting global energy markets. Rising insecurity near the Strait of Hormuz has disrupted oil and gas flows, raising concerns over supply shortages and higher global prices.
Airspace closures across parts of the region have also led to flight cancellations in several countries, including Pakistan, as fears grow that the conflict could widen further.
