Projects, winner. Living Landscapes. One of 10 photographs. “Since I first came to Sápmi, I’ve felt a deep connection with its landscapes and culture. It has become a temporary home for me—a place of incredible beauty, but also fragility, facing threats from climate change and exploitation. Through this project, I hope to share its unique diversity and encourage others to reconnect with nature and its values.” (Photo: Hanneke Van Camp / Natural Landscape Photography Awards):02

Projects, fifth place. Kingdoms of Reptiles and Amphibians. One of 10 photographs. “Reptiles and amphibians are fantastic animals with amazing adaptations that allow them to call the diverse landscapes and habitats of our amazing planet home. Yet they lead secretive, mysterious lives, hidden from all but the most curious eyes.” (Photo: Joshua Wallace / Natural Landscape Photography Awards):03

“Desert Landscapes,” Third Place. “Snow Globe.” “This January, I was planning a trip to Bryce Canyon. There was no snow forecast, but I was hoping for fog and went anyway. That frosty morning, I was greeted by snowdrifts.” (Photo: Prajit Ravindran / Natural Landscape Photography Awards):04

Seascapes, Third Place. Curves. “This photograph was taken on a late summer day on the Isle of Harris, Scotland. The light was fading, and a long shutter speed of two minutes smoothed out the ocean and clouds, which seemed to complement each other perfectly.” (Photo: Robert Birkby / Natural Landscape Photography Awards):05

Photographer of the Year, sixth place. One of eight photographs of ice formations and landscapes. (Photo Magnus Reneflot / Natural Landscape Photography Awards):06

“Cozy Landscape,” highly commended. “Frozen Silence.” “Amidst a snowstorm in the mountains of Japan, this ancient tree stood shrouded in frost and silence. I was drawn to its enduring presence, revealing a quiet strength in the winter mist.” (Photo: Yuya Wakamatsu / Natural Landscape Photography Awards):08

Photographer of the Year, fourth place. One of eight photographs in Yosemite National Park. (Photo: Scott Oller / Natural Landscape Photography Awards):09

“Rocks and Geology,” winner. Earth’s Creation. “The mysterious patterns of these marble caves seemed like a creation story to me: growing trees, ancient mountains, swirling galaxies. After taking this photo, I learned that the marble in this photo was only saved from mining because it is considered ‘low-quality.’ I wonder how many other wonderful landscapes have vanished to make way for our countertops?” (Photo by Spencer Cox / Natural Landscape Photography Awards):10
