KHARTOUM: Sudan’s foreign affairs and international cooperation ministry condemned in the strongest terms the horrific crimes committed by the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) militia, in the city of Al-Fashir.
The statement shared through Sudan’s embassy in Kuala Lumpur stressed that the militia had carried out, and continues to carry out, acts of ethnically motivated killing and systematic terror against unarmed civilians, including women, children, and the elderly.
The horrific scenes, proudly and shamelessly recorded by the perpetrators themselves, speak for themselves.
RSF had long planned this genocide by laying siege and starving the residents of Al-Fashir, the capital of North Dafur state, for more than two and a half years, culminating in a horrific massacre, and violations extending from El Geneina to the villages and countryside of Al-Jazira State.
The statement added that the terrorist militia’s war against Sudanese citizens constitutes a grave precedent in the world’s genocide record, rendering the militia a symbol of ethnic cleansing and mass extermination of innocent civilians.
The statement emphasised that wherever this militia sets foot, killing, destruction, and terror follow.
RSF emerged from former armed groups in Darfur and have been accused of genocidal crimes. Since 2023, the Sudan conflict has displaced millions and intensified ethnic targeting, particularly in Darfur, drawing international concern for mass atrocities.
Sudan had repeatedly warned the international community about the dangers of silence and inaction, calling for the implementation of UN Security Council Resolution No 2736 (2024).
However, the absence of international political will emboldened this terrorist militia – granting it the green light to defy international law and divine principles, to continue shedding innocent blood, destroying cities, and violating the dignity of honorable citizens.
The statement concluded that the crimes of this militia shall not go unpunished and reiterated Sudan’s determination to pursue accountability for all perpetrators of killings, terror, and genocide.
