Kremlin Confirms New Round of Direct Ukraine Talks on February 4–5 – AL24 News

The Kremlin confirmed on Monday that a new round of direct negotiations between Kyiv, Moscow, and Washington will take place on February 4–5, as part of ongoing efforts to find a way out of the war in Ukraine. Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said the talks had been postponed to allow better coordination of the working schedules of the three parties involved.
Peskov stressed that Russia’s position on the Ukraine conflict remains consistent and that Moscow continues to be open to negotiations. He noted that while it is possible to find common ground on certain issues, other matters remain irreconcilable, making meaningful rapprochement difficult at this stage.
The Kremlin spokesman added that Russia is ready to continue working within the framework of already established negotiating groups in the interest of resolving the conflict. He also said that European countries were the initiators of halting all forms of communication with Russia, while emphasizing that Moscow shares the view that maintaining channels for dialogue between Russia and Europe is necessary.
