Specialist Kryuchkov: Antibiotics should be used more rationally
Nikolai Kryuchkov, CEO of the company for research, development and registration of medicinal products, stated that antibiotics need to be used more rationally.
“The main thing here is not less often, but correctly, that is, in accordance with a clear algorithm, with the individual sensitivity of those infections that have affected a specific person,” he said in an interview with the radio station “Moscow Speaking.”
According to him, this will make it possible to more effectively combat the problem of resistance and superbugs.
It was previously reported that experts from the World Health Organization and the world's leading doctors came to the conclusion that infections caused by bacteria that are resistant to antibiotics could claim over 39 million lives by 2050.
