Doctor Osipov spoke about the symptoms of botulism
The head physician of the Domodedovo hospital, Honored Doctor of Russia Andrey Osipov spoke about the symptoms of botulism.
In a conversation with the online publication Podmoskovie Segodnya, he stated that the symptoms are mainly neurological in nature. These are double vision and fog in the eyes, speech impairment, partial paralysis of the tongue and facial muscles.
In case of illness, the lungs are affected, and movement disorders are also possible.
“The later symptoms appear after botulinum toxin enters the body, the easier the disease is. In severe cases, the patient is connected to a ventilator,” Osipov noted.
Earlier, Olga Ulankina, a medical expert at the Hemotest laboratory, warned that food in a microwave oven may be heated unevenly, which could lead to poisoning.
