Geriatrician Tkacheva spoke about the first signs of aging
Director of the Russian State Scientific Center of the Pirogov Russian National Research Medical University, Corresponding Member of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor, Chief Geriatrician of the Ministry of Health Olga Tkacheva spoke about the first signs of aging.
“Aging occurs at different rates: for some people it may be physiological, for others it may be slow, for others it may be accelerated. Since each organ and organ system ages at different rates, aging may occur according to different scenarios, and therefore the aging profile may be different for different people,” she said in an interview with the Argumenty i Fakty website.
According to her, the aging process begins with changes in the immune, hormonal and nervous systems.
The immune response is accompanied by so-called inflammaging, when the inflammatory process can be quite sluggish, but continues for a long time.
Examples of hormonal imbalance include menopause in women, and with the aging of the nervous system, the body's ability to adapt to any stressful influences may decrease.
Earlier, the head of the Center for Endocrine Surgery and Mammology of the Federal Scientific and Clinical Center of the Federal Medical and Biological Agency of Russia, endocrine surgeon Nikolai Solovyov, in an interview with the Vesti Podmoskovya publication, spoke about the signs of thyroid cancer.
