Kostomarov said that working with a psychologist turns him off
Olympic ice dancing champion Roman Kostomarov answered the question of why he refused to work with a psychologist after amputation.
“I told the doctors that they don’t need to send anyone to me. If a person with prosthetics, without arms, comes to me and starts telling me that life is wonderful, then I would probably talk to him. And when a healthy person comes to you and asks how you are doing, when you are lying without arms and without legs, it is disgusting,” he said in his Rutube show “Heart to Heart.”
He added that 20 years ago no one turned to psychologists. According to him, only figure skater Alexei Yagudin worked with a psychologist at the 2002 Olympics.
On January 10, 2023, an athlete with pneumonia was admitted to intensive care. Due to the development of necrosis, his feet and hands were amputated.
On December 17, the figure skater went on the ice for the first time after amputation and performed a number with his ex-professional sports partner Tatyana Navka.
Earlier, Kostomarov said that he was ready to become a member of the Ice Age jury.
