Infectious disease specialist Matyukhina advised postponing vaccination if there are symptoms of a runny nose due to ARVI

Infectious disease doctor, head of the infectious diseases department of the Medincenter clinical diagnostic center (a branch of GlavUpDK under the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs) Olga Matyukhina told whether it is possible to get vaccinated if a person has a runny nose.

In an interview with the Arguments and Facts website, she stated that the decision on the possibility of carrying out the procedure should be made by the doctor, taking into account the general health of the patient, since all vaccinations, including seasonal ones against influenza, can only be given to healthy people.

If there are symptoms of a runny nose due to ARVI, then it is better to postpone vaccination.

After final recovery, vaccination can be done in one to three weeks.

For chronic runny nose, it is recommended to consult a doctor.

Earlier, infectious disease specialist, head physician of the Leader-Medicine medical center, candidate of medical sciences Evgeniy Timakov, in a conversation with NSN, gave recommendations on flu vaccination.
