Cardiac surgeon Akchurin, who operated on Yeltsin, died at the age of 79
The famous cardiac surgeon Renat Akchurin, who performed coronary bypass surgery on the first President of Russia Boris Yeltsin on November 5, 1996, died after a long illness. At the time of his death he was 78 years old.
This is stated in a message distributed by the press service of the plenipotentiary mission of the Republic of Tatarstan in Moscow.
“Academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Doctor of Science, Professor died today after a long illness,” the publication notes.
On Thursday, October 3, it became known that Academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences Alexander Bugaev passed away at the age of 77.
