Doctor Arsyutov revealed the relationship between childhood myopia and other diseases

Various eye pathologies occupy third place among all types of childhood diseases, he shared in an interview with the website kp.ru.

“During the period of schooling, the vision of boys and girls decreases by an average of 2-3 times. More than half of all cases are myopia, or myopia,” Arsyutov stated.

The specialist noted that studies have proven the connection of eye diseases with diseases of other organs and systems: musculoskeletal, cardiovascular, gastrointestinal tract and others.

In addition, according to the expert, the situation is aggravated by the excessive use of gadgets in childhood. He advised parents to make efforts and instill in their children a culture of visual work.

Earlier, an ophthalmologist of the highest category, professor, doctor of medical sciences Tatyana Shilova, in a conversation with NSN, said that by the end of school, almost half of people go out into life with myopia.
