Neurologist Bogdanov listed the consequences of working long hours at a computer
Doctor of Medical Sciences, neurologist, head of the Department of Neurology at the Institute for Advanced Medical Studies of the Federal State Budgetary Institution National Medical and Surgical Center named after Pirogov Rinat Bogdanov listed the consequences of working long hours at a computer.
“When a person works at a computer, there is a lot of strain on his eyes, cervical spine, hands and wrist joints,” he said in an interview with Radio 1.
According to him, if there is prolonged hyperextension in the wrist joint, the median nerve, which works with the thumb, index finger and half of the ring finger, can be injured.
“That is, there are unpleasant sensations (numbness, tingling) in the wrist joint, which radiates to the fingers. This is carpal tunnel syndrome,” Bogdanov clarified.
In addition, the doctor said that working with a phone, for example, can provoke “text neck” syndrome.
As a preventive measure, he advised eliminating or minimizing the angle between the hand and forearm. Correct posture also plays an important role.
Earlier, cardiologist and therapist at the Paracelsus Medical Center, Aygun Huseynova, spoke about ways to safely use a smartphone.
