FOX News: US Attorney General's Office is examining a case of organ harvesting from a living patient
The Attorney General's Office of the State of Kentucky in the United States began to study the incident during which they tried to extract donor organs from a still living patient.
FOX News reports this.
According to media reports, three years ago 36-year-old Anthony Thomas Hoover was brought to the hospital after an overdose. The patient's family was soon informed that the patient was brain dead.
Since the man was registered as a donor, preparations began for the organ removal operation. Before the operation, the family was allowed to see Hoover one last time. When the relatives of the deceased came to say goodbye to him, Hoover opened his eyes. Doctors explained this by the work of reflexes – the man’s body was connected to life support at that moment.
Only on the operating table did Hoover suddenly come to life. The donor case coordinator contacted the supervisor to report the “miracle,” but he allegedly continued to insist on organ removal.
As a result, the operation was cancelled. Hoover's case of attempted organ harvesting has only now begun to be studied, because the donor's relatives only learned about what happened in September 2024.
Earlier, a judge in Kentucky was shot and killed by a sheriff.
