Cardiologist Gavrilyuk told how weather changes affect the heart

Cardiologist, researcher at the Almazov National Medical Research Center of the Russian Ministry of Health, Candidate of Medical Sciences Natalya Gavrilyuk told how weather changes affect the heart.

In a conversation with the website kp.ru, she stated that the number of strokes and heart attacks increases in the autumn-winter period, since the cold causes vasospasm.

“At the same time, patients with both hypertension and atherosclerosis have an excellent opportunity to reduce their risks. To do this, you need to take the medications prescribed by your doctor in a disciplined manner and follow the doctor’s lifestyle recommendations: less salt, more fiber, regular reasonable exercise, and so on,” the expert noted.

According to her, adequate sleep is also important.

Earlier, Denis Sokolov, a cardiologist at Meditsina JSC (academician Roitberg’s clinic), spoke about products that help lower blood pressure.
