Rakova announced the salvation of a patient with a simultaneous heart attack and stroke
In Moscow, a team of doctors from the Scientific Research Institute (Research Institute) of Emergency Medicine named after N.V. Sklifosovsky saved the life of a 38-year-old patient who was diagnosed with a simultaneous stroke and heart attack.
It was possible to provide emergency assistance thanks to the creation of a heart attack network in the capital’s hospitals, operating according to a new standard, reports the website mos.ru.
“Thanks to digital services, doctors knew about the threat of a stroke even before it arrived, and the heart attack was identified during the diagnostic process – the doctors acted harmoniously and clearly according to uniform algorithms developed within the framework of the new standard of emergency care,” commented Deputy Mayor for Social Development Anastasia Rakova.
The surgeons performed an operation during which they identified stenosis of the artery and installed a stand in the affected vessel. Thanks to timely medical care, the patient managed to avoid the serious consequences of two dangerous cardiovascular diseases. A week after hospitalization, the man was discharged without any neurological impairment.
Earlier, NSN, with reference to Rakova, reported that doctors of the capital’s hospital named after I.V. Davydovsky saved the life of a 68-year-old patient with multiple organ failure who was admitted in a state of clinical death.
