Doctor Ilyasov explained why sore throats are more common in the autumn-winter period
Otorhinolaryngologist Ruslan Ilyasov explained why sore throats are more common in the autumn-winter period.
“When the nose is blocked, people are forced to breathe through their mouth. Cold air entering the throat directly causes inflammation of the tonsils. In addition, during the cold season, immunity is often weakened, which makes us more vulnerable to infections,” he said in an interview with URA.RU.
According to him, sore throat varies depending on the nature of the pathogen. Catarrhal disease is considered the easiest.
“You should not ignore a sore throat, especially if it is accompanied by an increase in temperature,” Ilyasov noted.
He called the uncontrolled use of antibiotics the main mistake in treating sore throat.
Earlier, Vladislav Zhemchugov, doctor of medical sciences, therapist-immunologist, specialist in especially dangerous infections, in an interview with Radio 1, said that during the first three days, the signs of the Coxsackie virus may not differ from the usual ARVI.
