Cosmonaut Kononenko said his year-long expedition to the ISS was successfully completed
The more than year-long expedition to the International Space Station (ISS) has been successfully completed. This is how Russian cosmonaut, commander of the Russian detachment and special correspondent for TASS Maxim Kononenko assessed his fifth expedition to space.
“My intended plan is a nominal flight plan, which is formed for each expedition jointly with the state corporation Roscosmos. Working here on board the ISS, we are fulfilling a state task, and everything that was planned up to this point has already been implemented to date. Our crew has successfully completed all the tasks set,” Kononenko said.
The cosmonaut added that while working as a special correspondent for the agency on board the ISS, he decided to make the main theme of his materials stories about the life of cosmonauts on the station, as well as its structure, in accessible language.
Maxim Kononenko will return to Earth on Monday, September 23. His fifth expedition will last more than a year – 374 days.
Previously, cosmonauts of the state corporation Roscosmos Oleg Kononenko and Nikolai Chub set a new record for the duration of stay on the International Space Station (ISS) during a single flight.
