Scientist Gushchin spoke about ways to apply the work of Nobel Prize laureates
Senior researcher, head of the Laboratory of Structural Analysis and Engineering of Membrane Systems at MIPT Ivan Gushchin spoke about ways to apply the work of the 2024 Nobel Prize laureates in chemistry.
The use of artificial intelligence in determining the structure of proteins will allow solving many applied problems. Including calculating protein interactions, as well as creating new proteins with new functions, the expert said in an interview with Gazeta.Ru.
“This opens up new horizons for research in biology and medicine,” the scientist said.
According to him, specialists will be able to predict the effects of mutations, treat tumors more effectively, and create monoclonal antibodies.
It was previously reported that the Nobel Prize in Chemistry in 2024 was awarded to the American scientist David Baker and British researchers Demis Hassabis and John Jumper for their work in the field of protein molecules.
