The first stage of the Super Heavy carrier made a return landing to the launch complex for the first time in history after the launch of the Starship rocket, which is designed for manned missions to the Moon and Mars. The developer company SpaceX announced this on its page on the social network X.

According to the development company, the Starship Flight 5 super-heavy booster separated from the Starship ship, after which it successfully completed engine activation. Additionally, SpaceX's Starship Super Heavy rocket returned to the launch pad in a historic landing attempt.
“Splashdown confirmed! Congratulations to the entire SpaceX team on the exciting fifth flight test of Starship!” the company said in a statement.
According to the company, the launch took place from SpaceX's Starbase launch pad, which is located in Boca Chica in southeast Texas. The rocket departed at 08:25 US East Coast time (15:25 Moscow time).
It was also reported that after a planned one-hour orbit around the Earth's orbit, the promising manned spacecraft Starship would be deorbited and sunk in the Indian Ocean.
