The third supermoon of the year occurs – "Hunter's Moon"

Hunter's Moon is the third supermoon this year. According to one version, the name “Hunter’s Moon” was invented by representatives of the indigenous peoples of the United States. Thanks to its bright light, such a Moon helped them during night hunting.

A supermoon is a new moon or full moon at the moment of maximum or almost maximum (within 90%) approach of the Moon to the Earth in a given orbit. And when the Moon is low above the horizon during such a close approach, an illusion arises due to which the Earth's satellite appears brighter and larger than usual.
