Human civilization can survive if it becomes a multiplanetary species. This was stated by billionaire, founder of SpaceX and Tesla, Elon Musk, at an event in support of US presidential candidate Donald Trump, RIA Novosti reports.
“The lifespan of civilization will be much longer if we are a multiplanetary species,” he noted.
Musk drew attention to the fact that a natural or man-made disaster could cause the destruction of life on the planet. He recalled that “once a meteorite had already killed off the dinosaurs.” The entrepreneur emphasized that similar events could happen in the future.
One of the planets where humanity can escape is Mars, Musk added.
