A high class X flare occurred on the Sun again
On November 6, a flare of the highest class X occurred again on the Sun, said Sergei Bogachev, head of the solar astronomy laboratory at the Institute of Space Research of the Russian Academy of Sciences.
“A flare of the highest (X) magnitude was registered on the Sun after a week-long break associated with a temporary decline in solar activity. The event score, according to measurements, is X2.4,” RIA Novosti quotes him.
According to the expert, the maximum radiation was recorded at 16:40 Moscow time.
“The current event fits into the general growing trend and, most likely, is not the last this week,” Bogachev warned.
On the night of November 1, four powerful flares occurred on the Sun, one of which was of the highest class.
