Russia's chief oncologist Kaprin urged not to delay in diagnosing cancer
The sooner doctors detect cancer, the greater the chance of curing it, Andrei Kaprin, General Director of the National Medical Research Center of Radiology, chief oncologist of the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation, said in an interview with TASS.
He noted that he had not seen anyone who had been cured of cancer using alternative medicine.
“The trouble is that while patients believe in the “magic” pill that these unscrupulous people sell, they are only missing out on precious time that could be devoted to actually fighting the disease,” said the oncologist.
He added that the main enemy of cancer is early diagnosis.
Two days ago, scientists from Charles Sturt University in Australia predicted that the number of cancer cases will increase by 76.6% – from 20 million in 2022 to 35.3 million in 2050. The greatest increase in the cancer burden is predicted in Africa, where by 2050 the number of diagnosed cases could increase by 139.4%.
