Guardian: British MPs and WHO accounts hacked on social media X
The social media profiles of several British MPs and the World Health Organization (WHO) were hacked to advertise cryptocurrency, The Guardian reports.
The publication emphasizes that unknown individuals hacked the accounts of UK Justice Minister Shabana Mahmood and Labour MPs Chris Elmore and Caroline Harris. The accounts of WHO, Lenovo's Indian division, and the British show Great British Menu were also attacked.
The accounts posted identical messages, which were later deleted, the publication says.
In August, hackers broke into the official account of French Real Madrid striker Kylian Mbappe on the social network X (formerly Twitter) and published offensive messages on behalf of the footballer.
The messages also included a post with a negative assessment of the English football club Tottenham and Israeli policy. These publications were later deleted.
