Specialist Khrapunov: Fraudsters have begun to use longer fraud schemes
Fraudsters have begun to lull victims' vigilance when hacking accounts on social networks and messengers by talking about abstract topics, warned Alla Khrapunova, curator of the People's Front platform “Moshelovka”, in an interview with RIA Novosti.
According to the expert, the long way is chosen by those account hackers who extort money from the hacked victim's acquaintances.
“Fraudsters have increasingly begun to use zero stages in their fraudulent schemes, which serve as the basis for the subsequent legend and are aimed at lulling the vigilance of potential victims, gaining their trust through dialogues not directly related to money,” Khrapunova said.
She added that after some time, such communication will still end with a request for money and called for checking messages from “Gosuslugi”, law enforcement agencies, the Central Bank and close people.
“Calling a friend, sending a message through another messenger, asking a security question that only you know the answer to – these simple methods will protect you from being deceived,” advises a cybersecurity specialist.
