Insider-Gaming: Assassin's Creed IV Black Flag remake will be released earlier than expected
Ubisoft is still developing a remake of Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag. This was reported by the Insider-Gaming portal.
According to the source, prior to the delay of Assassin's Creed: Shadows, a remake of Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag, codenamed Obsidian, was planned for release around November 2025 – around the same time as the series' multiplayer offering, codenamed Invictus. It was assumed that the transfer of the new part about Japan could shift the release of other titles.
However, the source notes that the release of the remake of the fourth part will take place earlier than many expect.
Insider-Gaming sources from Ubisoft provided a short snippet of gameplay from the remake, in which Edward Kenway pilots a ship using the updated Anvil Engine. The video was provided on the condition that its contents would not be published, so journalists could not demonstrate it.
According to rumors, Ubisoft intends to release about ten Assassin's Creed games over the next five years. Among them will be a mobile action game codenamed Jade, which is planned for release in the second quarter of 2025 for Android and iOS.
