Bloomberg: iOS 18.1 with support for Apple Intelligence AI will be released on October 28

Apple will release iOS 18.1 with support for artificial intelligence Apple Intelligence on October 28. This is reported by authoritative insider and Bloomberg journalist Mark Gurman.

The update will introduce an AI-powered smart notification feature. According to Gurman, the update will bring support for AI-based notification summary, although the iOS 18.1 beta also introduces some improvements to Siri, text AI, and more. Other Apple Intelligence features such as Image Playground and Genmoji could arrive by December.

However, it is not known exactly which features will start working at the end of October, and which ones will appear later. Apple itself, during the presentation of its own AI system, Apple Intelligence, said that innovations “will be available later this year and in the following months.” The Apple Intelligence system will receive its final form only by spring next year.

iOS 18.1 support is announced for iPhone Xs, XR, 11 and newer smartphones, but only iPhone 15 Pro and all iPhone 16 models will be able to provide AI support. At first, the innovations will only work in the US and in English.
