The author of the YouTube channel Phone Repair Guru presented the world's first iPhone 16 Pro with a transparent back cover. Hi-Tech Mail reports this.
To create a transparent iPhone, enthusiasts heated the back of the device and carefully removed the glass cover. Then the MagSafe magnets were peeled off the panel and the glass was immersed in acid for three days to remove the aluminum coating on the inside. The result is a completely transparent panel with a matte, rough surface.
At the final stage, the panel was glued back and the glass for the cameras was returned to its place. However, the rings around the modules and the side frame could not be made transparent, since they are made of titanium and aluminum.
The author of the project noted that the transparent iPhone 16 Pro has fully retained its functionality: cameras, flash, wireless charging and MagSafe magnets work. Owners of such a smartphone can admire the hardware of the device.
It is possible that craftsmen from China will pay attention to this idea and begin producing transparent covers or cases for the iPhone so that they can be ordered to customize their devices.
