MacRumors: Due to overwhelming competition, Apple opened a huge laboratory in China

Apple has opened a new laboratory in Shenzhen to test the company's gadgets and strengthen cooperation with local suppliers. This was reported by the MacRumors portal.

According to Chinese media, the laboratory will eventually hire more than a thousand local and foreign specialists. Apple calls the new facility its largest laboratory outside the US, underscoring its commitment to the Chinese market.

Experts note that the opening of Apple's laboratory in China is associated with increased competition in the country, especially from Huawei. In August, Huawei's sales in China exceeded Apple's for the first time in nearly four years, according to research firm CINNO.

Despite efforts to diversify its production chain outside of China, Apple continues to invest in research and development within the country. The company previously opened research centers in Beijing, Shanghai, Suzhou and Shenzhen, and its R&D team in China has doubled in size over the past five years.
