Apple earned $10 billion less in fiscal fourth quarter due to fine
Apple reported financial results for the fourth fiscal quarter of 2024, which began on June 30 and ended on September 28 in the United States. The document, which talks about a record figure in the services segment, was published on the company's website.
Apple's total revenue for the quarter was $94.93 billion, up 6% year-over-year. However, net profit decreased by almost $10 billion – from $23 billion last year to $14.74 billion. The drop is attributed to the payment of tax debt to the Irish government in the amount of $10.2 billion.
Earnings per share were $0.97, excluding the one-time charge, $1.64, up from last year's $1.46.
iPhone sales brought the company $46.22 billion (an increase of 5.5%), Mac computers – $7.74 billion (+1.71%), iPad – $6.95 billion (+7.87%). The wearables, home and accessories segment posted a 3% decline with revenue of $9.04 billion, while services brought in $24.97 billion, up 11.91% year-over-year.
