Statcounter: the share of Windows 11 among PC users has grown to 35.55%

With Windows 10 support ending soon, the share of users migrating to Windows 11 continues to grow. However, the most current version of the OS is still far behind its predecessor in terms of the number of managed PCs. 3DNews reports this with reference to the Statcounter analytical service.

According to the latest statistics from Statcounter, Windows 11 has a 35.55% market share among all PCs running Microsoft operating systems. This is 2.13% more than in October last year. However, Windows 10 still dominates the market, occupying about 60.95% of the market share. Probably, by the beginning of 2025, the share of Windows 10 may drop below 60% for the first time since September 2019.

Other Microsoft operating systems are also showing a decline in popularity. Windows 7 takes 2.62%, Windows 8.1 – 0.31%, and Windows XP – 0.28%. Shares decreased by 0.22%, 0.05% and 0.06%, respectively.

When it comes to the overall ranking of operating systems, Windows (26.83%) ranks second after Android (44.62%). The ranking also includes iOS (18.49%), macOS (5.67%) and other platforms
