Moscow has explained its position on the Zangezur Corridor issue to Tehran and is proceeding from the fact that it was heard by the Iranian side. This was stated by the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova.
During the briefing, the diplomat said that she had seen statements by Iranian MPs who criticized Russia's position on this issue. Zakharova added that the Russian side is in contact with Iranian partners.
“We have provided all the necessary clarifications on this matter. We proceed from the fact that the arguments we presented were heard and accepted in Tehran,” Zakharova said.
Earlier, Iran allowed the signing of a comprehensive agreement with Russia at the BRICS summit, which will be held in October in Kazan.
