The official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, reminded about the responsibility for the illegal presence of media employees on the territory of the state without the appropriate documents.
“The illegal presence of media employees, like any other citizens, on the territory of our country without the appropriate documents is a criminal offense,” RIA Novosti quotes her as saying.
The diplomat explained that it is considered illegal for citizens not to have a visa, a journalist visa, or accreditation to carry out journalistic activities on the territory of Russia.
Earlier, it was reported that criminal cases had been opened against journalists from the United States and Ukraine for illegally crossing the border in the Kursk region.
