Former BBC presenter gets suspended sentence for child pornography
Former BBC news presenter Huw Edwards has been given a suspended six-month sentence for possessing child pornography.
According to Sky News, the decision was made by a judge at London's Westminster Magistrates' Court.
According to the channel, Edwards paid £1,500 to paedophile Alex Williams between December 2020 and August 2021 to receive 41 illegal images, seven of which were of the “most serious nature”.
Most of the children were believed to be between 13 and 15 years old, but one of those filmed was between seven and nine years old.
In addition to the suspended sentence, the court sentenced the former British presenter to 25 sessions of medical rehabilitation, payment of £3.1 thousand to the victims, and also seven years of registration on the register of persons who committed sexual offenders.
The Sun previously reported that Edwards was accused of creating indecent images of minors.
