Russian Armed Forces Repelled Militant Infiltration Attempt in Syria's Idlib Province

The Russian Armed Forces repelled an attempt by militants to penetrate government positions in the Syrian province of Idlib.

This was stated by the deputy head of the Russian Center for Reconciliation of Opposing Sides in Syria, Captain 1st Rank Oleg Ignasyuk.

“In Idlib province, an attempt by a sabotage and reconnaissance group of militants to penetrate the positions of government forces in the Maaret al-Ulia region was repelled,” TASS quotes him as saying.

According to him, one terrorist was killed.

In addition, Ignasyuk added that in the Et-Tanf area, 15 violations of the rules for the use of Syrian airspace by coalition aircraft were recorded in 24 hours.

Earlier it was reported that the MQ-9 Reaper drone came dangerously close to a Russian Aerospace Forces aircraft in Syria.
