Russia opposes attempts by Western countries to politicize the activities of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA).
This was stated in a statement by the Permanent Representative of Russia to the International Organizations in Vienna, Mikhail Ulyanov, published on the mission’s Telegram channel.
“In principle, Russia is against the politicization of specialized international institutions and forums, including the IAEA. Unfortunately, our Western partners hold a different point of view,” Ulyanov noted.
He added that the West invariably brings “politically charged attitudes” to the IAEA’s activities.
Earlier, Ulyanov reported on Russia’s call for the IAEA to respond more harshly to Ukraine’s provocations at the Kursk NPP.
