Political scientist Ivan Mezyukho, in an interview with RT, stated that the West is making major mistakes in persecuting RT and its officials.
“Thus, Washington is only drawing attention to this media, and it is impossible to imagine better promotion from the administration of the President of the United States of America. If the Biden administration had any understanding of new types of media and the dissemination of information, it would never have behaved so stupidly and brainlessly,” the political scientist believes.
He noted that it is the actions of the Biden administration that increase RT's trust among Western audiences.
“It is clear that this whole story of persecuting RT is connected with the American elections, with the search for non-existent “Russian influence” on the elections in the United States of America. The Biden administration is disgracing its country,” Mezyukho added.
He also expressed confidence that by persecuting RT, the US is only emphasizing “the essence of its foreign policy,” aimed at establishing an information dictatorship.
Earlier, Deputy Speaker of the Federation Council Konstantin Kosachev called the sanctions against RT a pre-election operation by the American authorities.
