NYT: Lebanon Shuts Down Phones, Devices Amid Fear of More Explosions

In Lebanon, civilians have begun to completely turn off all kinds of gadgets, fearing new explosions.

The New York Times reported this.

The publication points out that the Lebanese are turning off not only communications equipment, but even inverters and solar panels, as well as baby monitors, televisions and laptops.

As the newspaper notes, the pager explosions have turned everyday life in Lebanon into “scenes of panic and violence.” The attacks have seriously disrupted the health care system, with hospitals overwhelmed by the injured.

The New York Times previously reported that Israel had created a front company to produce explosive pagers.

It also emerged that the owner of the company involved in the supply of pagers disappeared after the explosions.

The explosions in Lebanon on September 17 and 18 killed at least 32 people, including a child and medical workers, and injured 3,250 others, according to the UN.
