Prilepin spoke about US restrictions against RT

Writer Zakhar Prilepin commented on the restrictions imposed by the United States on the RT television channel in connection with accusations of interference in the American elections.

As he noted in his Telegram, his youth was spent surrounded by films, TV series and literature with “exposures” of the Soviet regime, when they constantly talked about the “totalitarian system” that supposedly oppressed everyone and claimed that everything was different in the West.

“Over the ocean and in Europe,” they told us, “where there is democracy and liberalism, everyone has the right to say whatever they want. Within the framework of the laws, but what laws are there – just rules of conduct. But in general – breathe deeply!” he pointed out.

And, as Prilepin noted, everyone believed this and, under these exhortations, destroyed their country.

“A lot of water has flowed under the bridge. A lot has become clearer, so much so that it hurts my eyes to look at it. For example, I read now: in the US, they are accusing our TV channel RT of influencing their elections. How? American conservative bloggers with millions of followers worked with RT. And they did influence. But you can't influence. Only they can influence everything. And don't even think about them,” he said.

The writer emphasized that not only had RT and Russian media in general been used as a bludgeon against their domestic political competitors in the United States, but now the US “has also admitted its helplessness.”

Earlier it became known that the United States was imposing sanctions against RT, its editor-in-chief, as well as RIA Novosti and Sputnik.

In an interview with RT, Vice Speaker of the Federation Council Konstantin Kosachev called this step a pre-election operation by the American authorities.
