Director of the Latin American Department of the Russian Foreign Ministry Alexander Shchetinin, in a conversation with RT en Español, condemned the US State Department's accusations against RT regarding the channel's alleged participation in a campaign to destabilize the government of Argentina.
“I think the narrative you are currently hearing about RT’s activities is a narrative that does not serve the interests of the wider political and social networks in Argentina, which are interested in an alternative point of view to the mainstream media that are already accustomed to listening to RT on their television channels,” he said.
Shchetinin noted the professionalism of RT employees.
“I think that what you do openly, honestly, broadly, balanced, demonstrates high professionalism. Professionalism is sometimes frightening. Sometimes it is frightening because they do not want to hear the truth. But I do not know what can be done with these people. Continue to work. Continue to work and continue to bring objective news,” Shchetinin emphasized.
Earlier, the American television channel NBC stated that American officials accuse RT of waging a covert information war around the world.
