Zakharova on AI in diplomacy: international rules of the game are needed
The official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, spoke about the role of artificial intelligence in the work of the foreign policy department and diplomatic relations.
As Zakharova noted in an interview with Parliamentary Newspaper, issues of artificial intelligence have become international.
“The main thing is that we need some international rules of the game. We want the topic of artificial intelligence to become a topic of cooperation. But, unfortunately, we see that there are already all the trends that define the process not even as normal rivalry or competition, but as another field of confrontation,” she said.
According to Zakharova, Russia is trying to defend its position on this issue – not to turn AI into a tool for segregating the world, while the West is “pulling everything in its direction.”
She said that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs also uses AI elements in its work.
At the same time, Zakharova emphasized the importance of being able to recognize what was created by a machine and what by a person.
Earlier, Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin spoke about how artificial intelligence is being introduced into the practice of the capital's healthcare system.
