Russia's Permanent Representative to the UN Vasily Nebenzya called for an objective assessment of the impact of unilateral sanctions on the humanitarian situation in Syria.
“We call on the UN to publicly give direct and honest assessments of the difficulties that Syrians, as well as humanitarian workers carrying out their noble mission, are facing due to illegitimate unilateral sanctions,” TASS quotes him as saying at a UN Security Council meeting on the situation in Syria.
Earlier, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said in an interview with the RT program “Bridges to the East” that the United States is creating a quasi-state in the territory of Syria under its control.
According to him, thanks to the actions of the Russian side, it was possible to stabilize the situation in Syria.
