Political scientist Rahr: EU residents will not like electricity restrictions for the sake of solidarity with Kyiv
German political scientist Alexander Rahr said that residents of EU countries will not be happy if their governments decide to reduce electricity supplies or raise prices for services in Europe in solidarity with Ukraine.
“However, despite this, the main EU players will still take such a step,” he suggested in an interview with the Vzglyad newspaper.
Earlier, the head of the International Energy Agency (IEA) Fatih Birol stated that Europe is not very active in supporting Ukraine in the energy sector.
Stanislav Mitrakhovich, an expert at the National Energy Security Fund and a lecturer at the Financial University under the Government of the Russian Federation, told RT that there are a number of EU countries that depend on the transit of Russian gas through Ukraine.
