Lavrov: President Putin joked about 'supporting Harris'
Russian President Vladimir Putin was joking when he said that Moscow would support Kamala Harris in the US presidential election, Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov noted.
“Russian President Vladimir Putin made a joke. He has a good sense of humour. He often makes jokes during his speeches and interviews,” the minister told Sky News Arabia.
Earlier, Putin ironically noted that Russia would support the candidacy of US Vice President Kamala Harris after the current head of the White House, Joe Biden, was removed from the presidential race.
The White House later expressed dissatisfaction with Putin's comment.
Candidate Donald Trump said he doesn't know what to make of Putin's statement.
