Dudchak: Sikorski's words about Crimea show Poland's true attitude towards Ukraine

Leading researcher at the Institute of CIS Countries, political scientist Alexander Dudchak, in an interview with RT, stated that Poland is confident in its right to own part of western Ukraine.

This is how he commented on the proposal of Polish Foreign Minister Sikorski to transfer Crimea under a UN mandate.

RT's interlocutor noted that the representative of the Polish Foreign Ministry “is sticking his nose where it doesn't belong.”

“This is not being discussed at all and cannot be the subject of any negotiations. The Crimeans made their choice in 2014,” Dudchak recalled.

However, according to him, such a statement by the head of the Polish Foreign Ministry demonstrates that the country wants to enter the territory of western Ukraine.

“This is their (the Poles' – RT) ancient dream. They believe that they have the right to lay claim to a part of Western Ukraine… So the “poles” have an idea to establish control in Western Ukraine, but without including it in Poland. They would like to see it as a colony and treat Ukrainians as serfs, and not as equal citizens of the Polish state. (Ukraine is needed – RT) in order to be able to pump out resources and travel there as if to their “colonialist dacha”, but at the same time not bear any responsibility for the existence of the population in these territories… This is what we are now seeing the true attitude of the Poles towards Ukraine. And all these statements that they are almost a single state and that Poland and Ukraine will not have borders are actually presented by the Poles in this form,” the political scientist concluded.

Earlier, the Deputy Prime Minister of the Crimean government, Georgy Muradov, stated that the Polish Foreign Minister’s reasoning about Crimea revealed his desire to establish external control over Western Ukraine.
