Tajani: Italy cannot approve Western weapons strikes deep into Russia
Italian Foreign Minister and Deputy Prime Minister Antonio Tajani said that Rome cannot allow Kyiv to strike Russian territory with Western long-range weapons.
He spoke about this in an interview with the Italian publication Corriere della Sera.
“As part of the ninth package of military aid (to Ukraine. — RT), we are sending the Samp-T air defense system, but we cannot approve of Kyiv bombing Moscow,” the minister said.
At the same time, Tajani noted that the European Parliament resolution on this topic has no legal force.
Earlier, Italian Deputy Prime Minister Matteo Salvini and Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban called for an urgent end to the conflict in Ukraine.
Meanwhile, Italian Defense Minister Guido Crosetto explained the delay in handing over the Samp-T complex to Kyiv by vacations and weekends.
