The US plans to ban Russian and Chinese software in cars
The US Commerce Department plans to ban Russian and Chinese-made software from cars with internet access.
Bloomberg writes about this.
“The move would include a ban on the use and testing of Chinese and Russian technologies for automated driving systems and communication systems in vehicles,” the report says.
It is noted that the ban is aimed at preventing the collection of data on drivers in the United States and their movements. In addition, according to the authorities, it could “strengthen the US auto industry.”
Earlier, the CEO of the American company Ford, Jim Farley, said that electric car manufacturers from China pose an “existential threat” to the US auto industry.
