Spiegel: It is still unclear whether the SPD will actually win the elections in Brandenburg

The outcome of the elections in the German state of Brandenburg is still unclear, despite the fact that the SPD is ahead of the Alternative for Germany by a small margin, writes Der Spiegel.

“It is still unclear whether the SPD will ultimately overtake the AfD,” the article says.

At the same time, Brandenburg Prime Minister Dietmar Woidke has already declared the Social Democrats' success.

According to the latest figures, German Chancellor Olaf Scholz's Social Democrats are leading the Alternative for Germany (AfD) in the Brandenburg elections by a small margin: the SPD has 31.8%, the AfD 29.2%.
