Netanyahu Calls on Lebanese to Leave Areas with Hezbollah Weapons Depots

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has called on Lebanese residents to leave areas where the Shiite Hezbollah movement's weapons depots are located.

Netanyahu stressed that Israel is not waging a war against the people of Lebanon, but against Hezbollah.

“For too long, Hezbollah has used you as a human shield. It has placed rockets in your living rooms and garages. These rockets and shells are aimed directly at our cities and our citizens,” RIA Novosti quotes him as saying.

Netanyahu added that the IDF must eliminate the Shiite group's weapons in order to protect Israel.

Earlier, the IDF expanded strikes against Hezbollah targets throughout Lebanon.

According to the latest data, at least 274 people have been killed and another 1,024 injured in Israeli airstrikes in southern Lebanon.
