US Justice Department publishes letter from American Routt who attempted to assassinate Trump
A letter from Ryan Wesley Routh, who organized the second assassination attempt on Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump, has been published by the US Department of Justice.
In it, the American regrets the failed assassination attempt and promises a monetary reward to anyone who can “finish the job.”
“I tried my best and put all the courage I could into it. Now it's up to you to finish the job, and I'll offer $150,000 to anyone who can finish it,” the agency's memorandum quotes the letter as saying.
The second assassination attempt on Trump took place on September 15. As previously reported by the US Secret Service, the suspect did not have time to open fire.
